Concept of Gender Impact Assessment
What is the Gender Impact Assessment System?
The policy gives women and men even benefits in considering the demands and differences according to gender when planning, executing, and assessing the policy.

- Analyze the actual conditions through the review of the objective materials and policy such as
  gender statistics and the demand of the customers
- Grasp how the operation or the abolition of the policy affect women and men differently

Legal Basis
The basic law of the women's development (Analysis, Assessment of Policy, ETC)
- Introduced to establish and enforce gender sensitive policy on Dec. 11th, 2002.
<Clause 1, Article 10 of the basic law of the women development >
National and local governments should analyze and assess how the applicable policy influences the rights and interests and social participation of women in advance.
International Basis
- Clearly stated the necessity that they analyze both genders view about the policy by the
  code of conduct of 4th World Conference on Women(1995)

→ Each country introduces Gender Sensitive Policy that is, Gender Impact Assessment System.
→ Enlargement of organization of Woman policy promotion and establishment of gender
    sensitive budget

* Now, about 40 countries such as England(Gender impact assessment) and Canada(Gender analysis) and international organization such as UN, ILO and ETC are conducting the various types of Gender Impact Assessment System
