Personal Information Protection for the Webpage Visitors
Personal Information Protection Policy
This is a guideline of the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family (MOGEF)'s privacy policy in terms of security and collection of personal information. In order to protect MOGEF webpage visitors' personal privacy and to prevent a violation of human right through illegal leak of the personal information, the MOGEF manages the personal information by complying with the Privacy Act and Enforcement Decree of the Act on the Protection of Personal Information Maintained by Public Institutions.
Personal Information Protection of the Webpage Visitor
Unless otherwise noticed, it is applicable to all webpage managed by the MOGEF.
Collecting and Storing Personal Information When Using Webpage
The MOGEF collects and stores the following personal information within the agreement of the subject and the regulation on the relevant status only.
When you visit the MOGEF web site, the following information will be collected and stored automatically.
- Visitors' internet server domain and the address of the transit webpage
- The browser/ web OS
- Date/time of visit
etc.
In order to provide better service, the above information will be utilized for statistical analysis. It will contribute to webpage upgrades, and to improve communication between user and web master. As the occasion demands, the data will be submitted according to status.
Information Collection through Email/HTML
Visitors may deliver their intention through electrical measurements, for instance mail, telephone, or online e-documents. In terms of choosing a method, there are some instructions.
- A third party may ask and read the information that you stated on the web.
- As the occasion demands, the information you stated can be shared with the third party who ask for the information, according to the relevant regulations. In addition, it can be used as the source of the policy development.
- Also, the information can be provided or shared with other ministries.
Security Measures in the Webpage
- The MOGEF is running various programs including network traffic monitoring to prevent any trouble. It is aimed at the webpage security and sustainable services.
- There are administrative and technical efforts to secure the webpage. However, we strongly recommend not to state sensitive information just in case of violation accidents.
- If you post something on the webpage, the posting has to exclude personal information.
+ "Personal Information" is defined as information to identify an individual that may include his or her name, national resident registration number with images. (It includes the information which is not an indicator to identify a certain individual, since it is quite possible to identify the person after combining with other information) [Clause 2, Article 2, Privacy Law]
- As the occasion demands, the information you stated can be shared with the third party who asks for the information, according to the relevant regulations. In addition, it can be used as the source of policy development.
- Also, the information can be provided or shared with other ministries.
Link Sites, Web Sites
If you click a banner or link on every webpage run by MOGEF and move to other web sites, the new policy will be applicable by the privacy policy of each administrative structure. Therefore, visitors should find out the personal information policy of the visiting web site.
Acquisition of a Third Party's Personal Information While Using the Webpage
It is prohibited to acquire any personally identifiable information from the webpage run by MOGEF. Those who read and receive the personal information by unlawful way will be punished in accordance with the law.

The MOGEF collects and possesses the personal information within the agreement of the subject and the regulation on the relevant status only. The following is the format of the file that MOGEF collects and keeps according to the relevant regulations.

According to the relevant regulations, the MOGEF will make an effort to stay in the rights and interests of the nations and to treat their personal information legally and reasonably.
The Use and Dissemination of Personal Information
It is allowed to utilize and provide personal information to other institutions in the following cases in compliance with Article 18 of the Privacy Law (the limit on the use and provision of personal information).
- In the case of a special approvement by the subject of the information
- In the case of special regulations of other laws
- In the case of explicit recognition to be necessary for protection of a third party's life, interests, or properties even though it is impossible to obtain the individuals¡¯ consent (including the situation unable to declare one's intention or the address unknown, etc)
- In the case of need for statistical data or academic research, it is allowed to provide personal information as the unidentifiable form.
- When it is impossible to perform the jurisdiction without provision the information to a third party (the process of deliberations and votes should be done in advance.)
- In the case of need for provision the information to foreign governments or international organizations in order to implement treaty or other international agreements
- In the case of need for criminal investigations or prosecutions
- In the case of need for trials in the court
- In the case of need for execution, punishment, care and custody
The MOGEF uses the possessed personal information for other purposes or provides it to a third party within the agreement of the subject and the regulation on the relevant status only. The MOGEF follows the below format when providing information to a third party.

The Claim for Reading, Correction ¡¤ Deletion, and Disposal Suspension of Personal Information
You may request to read, correct ¡¤ delete, and suspense personal information files that the MOGEF retained according to the Privacy Act and other applicable laws.

- submission a completed form named 'Request for Personal Information' (Annex Form 3) to the department of the personal information.

Restriction on Reading
: The reading can be restricted by Article 35 of the Privacy Law.
1. When reading is prohibited or restricted by the law
2. In an emergency that threatens an individual's life, health, or personal security,
other's property, or other interests
3. The cause of a disruptive influence on the following cases
- To impose, collect and refund a tax
- To evaluate academic achievement and to select new entering students by the
Education Act
- In the case of a test or an examination of qualifications regarding academic
ability, technical ability, and employment
- Tasks on evaluation or determination about the amount of compensation or
donation
- Tasks on audit/ investigation by other laws
The Destruction of the Personal Information Files
The MOGEF destructs personal information files if it is unnecessary to keep the information in the case of the expired period, and the attainment of the possession purpose, etc. However, there are some exceptional cases that we should keep the files according to other relevant laws.
Report Invasion of the Personal Information
If you suffer from the invasion of privacy or find any possibility of invasion of the personal information (collect, provide, and store, etc), please report it to the privacy center run by the Ministry of Public Administration and Security.

How to Get Relief on the Invasion of Rights and Interests & the Appeal Procedure of Unsatisfaction
According to Article 35 (reading personal information) & 36 (the correction and deletion of the personal information) of the Privacy Law, if those who had their rights and interests invaded from a nonfeasance or disposal conducted by the head of public institutions, it is able to claim administrative adjudications.
